Many Glasgow students rely on meals during the school day and here are 2 ways the Glasgow community can help:
1) Donate food items or money online to a local food bank.
Food bank resources:
Food for Others is accepting donations via Amazon wishlist or direct donation and has distribution sites that directly serve the Glasgow community. Social distancing is encouraged and as a result drop-off donations to food banks is discouraged.
Donating money to a local food bank is a great way to support our community too. Prior to donating in any form, highly recommend going to the website to verify the items in highest demand and method of donation. Additional food assistance resources for Glasgow and Fairfax County are available (English and Spanish).
2) Spread the word about meal availability at Fairfax County locations Monday-Friday from 8am-2pm. Meals are available at no cost to children 18 years and under. Adult lunches are available for purchase for $2. Bus route meal service is available also!
The Glasgow Community Gazette provides information specific to Glasgow students. We highly recommend reading the Gazette closely weekly as we transition together to a distance learning environment.
