Picture Day Volunteers needed on October 18th & October 19th ! Students who have PE on ODD days will have their picture taken Tuesday, during Periods 1, 3, & 5. Those who have PE on EVEN days will have their picture taken Wednesday during Periods 2, 4, & 6. FCCPTA is your partner in serving your school community. Our officers and committee chairs are volunteers who answered the call to provide the very best educational experience for our children. This month your PTA/PTSA officers will receive information about programs that enhance students’ educational experiences, such as Reflections and Spelling Bee. We will continue to provide ways to help convene meaningful parenting discussions, such as the documentaries Screenagers and Under the Gun. Kindness. Commitment. Safety. Our Panthers are busy using those guiding principles each school day. When they get “caught” in the act, a teacher or staff member can reward them with a Panther card. At least once a month, students with Panther cards visit the PBIS (Positive Behavior Interventions & Supports) Panther Store during lunch, and redeem cards for small treats such as candy, toys, books, gift cards and other items. In the Nov. 8 General Election, Fairfax County voters will be asked to vote YES or NO on a meals tax question. The Board of Supervisors does not have the authority to implement a meals tax unless approved by voters. 70 percent of the net revenues of the tax collected would be dedicated to Fairfax County Public Schools.
